SUMMARY:Dusty Gray Band - Pat and the Hats
DESCRIPTION:Since the age of 17\, Dusty Gray has been capturing audiences with his blues\, rock\, soul and country music sound. Growing up in New Hampshire and being one of three boys\, Dusty found ease in music\, especially the craft of a songwriting. Influenced by the likes of Johnny Cash\, Otis Redding\, Greg Allman\, Eric Clapton\, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Ray Lamontagne\, Dusty intertwines theses heroes into his own unique Country music sound. Priding himself in his “live” shows\, Dusty goes out every night putting everything he has into the show leaving nothing behind.\nhttp://www.dustygray.com \n \nPat and the Hats’ unique version of pop rock is strongly influenced by bands of the 1960s and touches upon many unrelated genres in the same breath.  Their extensive catalogue of polished original tunes transcends a single musical genre\, and their performances have a lively\, almost theatrical approach.

SUMMARY:Black 47
DESCRIPTION:They played more gigs at Shea Stadium than The Beatles\, shut down the city of Hoboken\, appeared multiple times on Leno\, Letterman & O’Brien\, starred in a movie with their fans Matt Dillon and Danny Glover\, helped spring the Guilford Four and the Birmingham Six from British prisons\, saved an Irish immigrant church from the wrecking ball. \n \nAnything else? Oh yeah\, their CD IRAQ was the most popular with troops serving in Iraq\, their song The Big Fellah was featured for 3 minutes on Sons of Anarchy\, they’ve played over 2500 gigs from pubs to stadiums and released 14 CDs\, their songs are used in hundreds of high school and college history and political science courses\, and they intend disbanding on Nov. 8th\, exactly 25 years after their first gig in The Bronx. Then again\, Black 47 has always done it their way. \nLed by Irish author\, playwright\, and SiriusXM radio host\, Larry Kirwan\, Black 47 play a uniquely Irish form of rock ‘n’ roll that touches on many social and political issues\, and yet is never less than entertaining and riveting. Black 47 earned their chops playing four sets a night in New York pubs. They gained national attention for their first indie record before The Cars’ Ric Ocasek produced their second album\, Fire Of Freedom which brought them mainstream attention with MTV favorites\, Funky Ceili and Maria’s Wedding.

SUMMARY:David Knopfler
DESCRIPTION:An intimate evening with Dire Straits Co-Founder David Knopfler\nBorn in Glasgow\, Scotland\, David Knopfler grew up in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the North of England. By fourteen\,  David was performing his own songs in folk clubs and having learned guitar\, piano and drums in his childhood\, it’s not surprising to find he’s mastered many  of the instruments he uses on his recordings. Despite a college degree\, he can’t recall any other aspirations beyond composing and playing music. \n \nDavid founded Dire Straits alongside his brother Mark\, and recorded three albums\, touring the stadium circuit extensively\, before resigning three years later to follow his own path of independent\, singer-songwriter. For more than two decades has faithfully pursued his musical vision\, writing and producing his own music on  nine solo CDs to date. \nDavid creates songs of substance. They are by turns deep and  captivating\, elegant and thought provoking\, with clever\, gripping lyrics\, his  exquisite sense of melody blending effortlessly. More attentive listeners might  even find themselves decoding the frequent buried references David includes. An example is found in “Jericho” (from his 2002 album Wishbones)\, the words to which conceal titles of previous albums and songs. \nDavid Knopfler has  been fortunate enough to reach a wide audience without compromising his art.  While he’s enjoyed the respect and admiration of his musical peers\, widespread  critical acclaim\, international awards and worldwide chart successes\, he’s  managed\, in his own country\, Britain\, to keep a profile so low as to be nearly  invisible. He lives quietly in the English countryside\, notching up an  impressive list of writing credits. \nAn understated integrity and honesty  define Knopfler in both his work and private life. A family man and a lifelong  member of organizations like Greenpeace\, Amnesty International and Adopt a  Minefield\, David has always made uncompromising life choices. “I don’t regard  what I do as remotely glamorous. I write and record music because I completely  love doing it\, despite any so called “celebrity status” that sometimes comes  with the job.” \nDavid’s first book of poetry entitled Blood Stones and  Rhythmic Beasts was released in 2005 by Blackwing Books. The year 2006 saw the debut of his 10th CD “Songs For the Siren”\, and in March 2009 his collection “Anthology:1983-2008” was released. 2011 brought the release of David’s eleventh solo album\, an acoustic\, double CD with eighteen tracks including seven new songs – with guitarist and co-producer Harry Bogdanovs\, titled “Acoustic”.  In 2013 David released a limited edition acoustic CD recorded live in Erfurt\, Germany\, titled “Made In Germany”\, available for a limited time at shows and on CDBaby.com.

His musical explorations have produced lasting work and a career that has brought with it acclaim\, a loyal following\, and an enduring respect among musicians. \n \nHis multi-million-selling album\, “Silk Degrees” was released in 1976. This album contained several hits\, including “Lowdown\,” and “Lido Shuffle\,” and “What Can I Say.” \nScaggs became an overnight success with a world tour that sold out every venue he played. SUMMARY:Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn at the Flying Monkey
DESCRIPTION:  \nBela Fleck and Abigail Washburn\nSeptember 20\, 2014 | 7:30PM\nFlying Monkey Movie House and Performance Center \nBanjoists Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn have mastered the deceptively intricate art of the duet. Their performances embrace a diversity almost unthinkable – coming from just two banjos and one voice. Washburn’s beguiling composing\, playing and singing blend with Fleck’s riveting and virtuosic musicianship to create music both unique yet familiar in texture. \nTogether\, Fleck and Washburn employ the relatively rare 3-finger and clawhammer banjo duet to create an explosion of musical white heat. \nTickets start at $54 \nPhone: 603-536-2551
